The Premier League is starting to wrap up the 2023-2024 season. Tottenham is battling to stay in the top 6 to qualify for Europa League next season. Overall, I would call this a successful first campaign that the squad has had under new manager Ange Postecoglu. As the summer approaches, rumors about Tottenham’s business have been heating up. Here is what I’m hearing and some thoughts on who may be on the way out.
Richarlison To Saudi Arabia?
Over the past year we have heard rumors that clubs in Saudi Arabia have been interested in making a move for Richarlison. Richarlison has turned in a solid campaign at Tottenham even with missing substantial time due to injury. That could definitely help drive up his price and create more interest in teams looking to sign him. The latest rumors have club Al Hilal interested in signing the Brazilian striker. This move may not be bad for Richy as he could be united with Brazilian teammate Neymar at Al Hilal. I’m sure the club would be willing to meet Tottenham’s asking price, which I would guess to be in the 60M pound range.
Tanganga To Millwall
Japhet Tanganga appears to be on the move to Millwall as Tottenham has agreed to terms to move the Spurs Academy product. The only thing left to agree on is personal terms between the player and the club. This would probably be a good move for him as there isn’t really any openings for him to work his way back into the Tottenham side. The moves for Van De Ven and Dragusin pretty much sealed his fate for his future at the club. Hopefully he can get his career back on track at Millwall. Wishing him all the best.
Emerson Royal to Leave
Emerson Royal appears to be on his way to a new club. According to rumors, the defender has been told by the club that he can look for a new club to play for in the summer. This isn’t a terribly surprising rumor. Destiny Udogie has been great this season and Oliver Skipp has been really solid at left back as well. Emerson just didn’t have it against Liverpool as Salah constantly beat him down the left. He is a player that has solid quality and should be able to find a new home with relative ease. I would expect him to be sold for around the 30M pound range.
Hojbjerg Hires New Agent
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has hired a new agent to help him secure a move this summer. It has been widely reported that the Danish international has been unhappy with his playing time this season. He is a player that has good quality, but his style isn’t quite the right fit for the Ange Postecoglu system. Rumors have it that Atletico Madrid will reignite their interest in Hojbjerg this summer. The player has only 1 year left on his contract which will probably drive the price down for him. I would guess he will be sold in the range of 15M-25M pounds.
Interest In Raphinha
Barcelona has made Raphinha available to a host of clubs. The player is drawing interest for clubs in Saudi Arabia as well as the Premier League. Tottenham appear to be one of the clubs interested in the Brazilian star. An unnamed English club made a bid for the player in January. Raphina has had his struggles at Barcelona, but he has been solid this season with 9 goals and 12 assists in 35 appearances this season. He could be a nice midfield upgrade that Tottenham this summer.
Strong Interest In Eze
Rumors have been linking Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze to Tottenham since last summer. Those rumors are picking up steam again as the season draws to an end. It sounds like Tottenham will have to battle Manchester City for the likes of Eze. Tottenham may have the upper hand as the player prefers to stay in London. If that’s the case, Tottenham will have to pay around 60M pounds for the player. I believe that he has exceptional quality and would be a great fit for Spurs.
These are just a few of the rumors I have been hearing about for the past month or so. I would expect rumors to heat up as the Prem comes to a close this weekend and the window begins on July 1st. Hopefully Daniel Levy finally does the right thing and financially backs the manager he has. No matter what, I feel like this transfer window is critical for Tottenham. Come On You Spurs!
